This is not a drill!! RUN – do not walk – to your kitchen and make these delicious BOURBON CINNAMON CANDIED PECANS. Yes, I’m yelling it at you because you seriously need these sweet, salty, smoky and sticky pecans in your life NOW!

Bourbony goodness…yeah, I said it.
Who doesn’t love cinnamon spiced nuts?!? Personally I believe that they’re a staple for the holiday season. After many years of searching for them around the holidays (also likely paying an arm & a leg), I decided to start making them in my own kitchen. I’ve been making these roasted cinnamon vanilla almonds for the last 7ish years.
After making batch after batch of the same recipe, I wanted to mix things up a bit this year. I literally spiced up my regular recipe by adding more cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and BOURBON. Yes, bourbon!! They’re so good that I’m going to say it one more time. BOURBON. I swapped out almonds for pecans – any nut will do – and voila, sweet bourbony (yes, I know that’s not a word & no, I do not care) goodness ensued.
What you need.

For these bourbon cinnamon candied pecans, you will need pecans, vanilla, egg white, sugars, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and of course the star: bourbon. Whisk the egg white until it’s white and frothy. Mix it all up together then place them on a well-prepared baking sheet. I lined my pan with nonstick aluminum foil and sprayed it with nonstick cooking spray just for good measure. I wasn’t taking any chances with these babies & it paid off!

Low & Slow
You want cook them low & slow for flavor and texture to develop properly. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees and set aside a good hour + 15 minutes to babysit these babies. You have to stir them every 20ish minutes to evenly cook them and hopefully prevent them from burning. I’ve made them many many times and haven’t burned mine one time. If you follow this method – the results will pay off HUGE.

Share with friends.
Make these bourbon candied pecans today. Serve them at your next holiday gathering, work party or gift them to loved ones. When you make them, I recommend that you make more than one batch at a time. I assure you that you will not be able to stop eating them – they’re addicting!! Also, head’s up if you make more than one batch, stick to maybe two batches per cooking period. You do not want to crowd your pan, so put half of the mixture on one large baking sheet & half on the other.

Ingredients
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon bourbon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 4 cups pecan halves
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees. Line a half sheet pan with nonstick aluminum foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside until ready to use.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg until it’s frothy. Add in the sugars, vanilla and bourbon and whisk it together to combine.
Once the wet mixture is thoroughly combined, mix in the salt and spices. Now gently fold in the pecans.
Spread the bourbon sugar coated pecans on the prepared pan and place in the oven. Bake at 250 degrees for about 1 hour and 15 mins. Stir the pecans every 20 minutes to allow for even cooking and also to try to prevent burning.
When the bourbon candied pecans are done cooking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely before handling them. They will harden as they cool. Break them a part, if needed, and enjoy!
